School Prayers
We have daily opportunity to pray together, in personal space, as a class around our prayer focus. We learn and share traditional prayers, we begin each day and end each day with a prayer, a special part of our school life.
Prayer and Liturgy
Prayer, worship and liturgical celebration are central to our Catholic tradition and form an integral part of the school day. Prayer is encouraged in a variety of methods; – private individual prayer, group prayer, and whole school prayer.
Each child takes part in a daily act of worship and formal prayers are used to open and close the school day and before lunch. On Mondays we share a Statement of the Week which encourages us all to live out the gospel values in our daily lives. We look forward to our Tuesday afternoon liturgies, which are are usually centred around national celebrations and events, British and Catholic values. On Wednesdays the children plan and lead a liturgy using Lectio Divinia resources. On Thursdays our liturgy is about ‘Global Classrooms’ and we sing hymns together linked to the liturgical calendar.
